Does N-Gage/N-Gage QD offer Multi-tasking?
Yes you can be playing a game and take a phone call at the same time without the game being corrupted in any way.
Can the faceplate(s) be changed on the N-Gage/N-Gage QD?
On the N-Gage the front and the back face plate can be changed to suit your mood, on the N-Gage QD the front faceplate can be changed.
Does the N-Gage/N-Gage QD play Music?
As you probably know the N-Gage does have MP3 playback capabilities, but the N-Gage QD does not because it does not have a stereo headset system. Just a mono one!
Does the N-Gage/N-Gage QD have a Radio Player?
The N-Gage does have a radio capabilities but as you know the N-Gage QD does not have the radio support, the reason that the music player and the radio player were sacrificed on the N-Gage QD was to make it a smaller more eye candy machine!
My Radio Player Keeps closing?
Press some numbers before it boots you out, it will say "key not assigned" and be fine!
GPRS, WAP, Internet and MMS...
What settings do I need to access/use my networks GPRS, E-Mail, Internet and MMS?
Remember you need these settings to access various functions on the N-Gage/N-Gage QD e.g N-Gage Arena needs GPRS etc! The first thing to remember is to make sure that the services are activated on your sim card, once this is done you can visit the Nokia UK site to get all the settings you need! How can I connect to the N-Gage Arena using my N-Gage/N-Gage QD?
This all depends on the game, but if the game is compatable it should allow you from the game's main menu to access the N-Gage Arena, all you have to make sure is that your GPRS is activated through your network and the GPRS settings are correct on the phone. However if you have the N-Gage Arena software installed (a downloadable version will be available for the N-Gage and the N-Gage QD has it pre-installed) you can access it direct from your phone, when running the N-Gage Arena application on the phone it will ask you which access point settings to use, once you have chosen the correct GPRS settings it should connect to the Arena!

How do I Install .sis Applications on the N-Gage QD?
Firstly you will need to purchase a Bluetooth Dongle for your PC (any good PC outlet will stock this). You will need to make sure Mrouter is installed which can be found on this site in the downloads section. Then establish a bluetooth connection between your PC and your N-Gage QD,how you will perform this will depend on the software provided with Bluetooth Dongle, when a connection is established your Dongle software should allow you to transfer .sis and any other files from your PC to your QD and vice versa! Go onto your phone menu and select Tools > Manager, find the .sis file select it and select the install option. After its installed you may wish to delete the .sis file to save space.
How do I Install .sis Applications on the original N-Gage?
First plug in your USB cable and open your N-Gage directory up, drag the .sis file from your Computer into the N-Gage root folder, Next unplug your N-Gage from the USB cable. Go onto your phone menu and select Tools > Manager, find the .sis file select it and select the install option. After its installed you may wish to delete the .sis file to save space. The application should now appear on your main menu. The Bluetooth method can also be used same as the QD(see above).
How Do I Install Java Applications/Games?
First Install this software on your phone's memory. Upload the Java JAR File to your phone and unplug your USB Cable. Now you will need a fil manager program, a good one which can be found in this sites downloads section is FExplorer. Select the FExplorer Application from the tools menu on your phone, navigate to the JAR file on your E: drive and select install from the menu. Follow on Screen Instructions and when complete the Game/Application will be in your Extras>Apps. Folder

The Range of the Bluetooth on the N-Gage series phones is 10 Metres.
How do I connect to a Bluethooth Device using my N-Gage/N-Gage QD?
You have to access the Bluethooth Application on the phone run through the various setup such as device visibility, device name etc. One this is achieved you may search for a new device by selecting new paired device! (a more detailed guide can be found in the manual provided with the phone).

How do I connect my N-Gage up to a Computer?
You can use the Nokia Phone Suite. Also you can use the Audio Manager to transfer audio/video files to the unit. Or you can drag and drop files into the n-gage if you are using a USB DKE2 connection. Bluetooth or USB both work fine. A valid MMC card (not a game) must be in the n-gage for it to appear on your computer.
Where can I obtain the PC Suite Software for my N-Gage/N-Gage QD?
It is available on the CD you get when you purchase the game decks but you can download it from this site in the downloads section!
What can I do with PC Suite?
Using the Nokia N-Gage game deck PC Suite software, you can share information between a compatible PC and the phone, install software on the phone, configure phone settings, make backups of phone files, synchronize calendar, contacts, and tasks with Microsoft and Lotus applications, copy and move image files on the compatible PC and phone, and copy contacts and calendar information from another compatible Nokia device.

How to change your Operater Logo using F-Explorer v1.1(orange users see below)?
Make sure you have Fexplorer v1.1 from pur downloads section! Once you have installed get an opperater logo onto your phone via USB(N-Gage), Bluetooth (N-Gage/N-Gage QD) or Memory Card Reader! Open Fexplorer and find where you have stored the Operater Logo (I usually put it in the root folder of my memory card) When you have found it highlight it and press the left soft key.Press right to go into file and scroll down to the very bottom and find set as opperator logo. Press left soft key again and it will ask about the phone rebooting. Put yes and wait for the phone to restart. Wait a few seconds after the boot up and hey presto its changed!
How to change your Operater Logo using F-Explorer v1.1(for orange users)?
Some people are experiencing problems changing there operater on the orange network. This is how it is done, go on to this site: http://www.free-ringtones-free-logos.com and click logos up the top right hand side of the navigation bar, then browse for a logo that you like. Use the on-screen instructions to send the logo number to a selected mobile number which should cost ur standered text rate. You shouold recieve the logo within a couple of seconds, open it up, press left soft key(options) and then save. Once the phone has been restarted this will overwrite your existing logo but to change it for a downloaded logo like the ones featued on this site or for one you have created (just make sure they are gif/jpg/bmp files). All you have to do now is to transfer the operater logo to your phone rename it to the "EXACT" same filename as the single file in the following directory of your internal phone memory: C:\system\Apps\phone\op logo (can view this using F-Explorer) Using F-Explorer paste this renamed file into the directory I just mentioned, restart the phone, and now its been manually changed!!!
How to change your Operater Logo back to default?
Use F-Explorer and got C:\System\Apps\Phone and there should be one single file in there. Check to make sure that it is your current Operater Logo and delete it. Then restart your phone and this will restore the default one because it cannot detect the deleted one.
